I've been running BC3K for about a week now and am starting to realise the
depth of this sim.
Not many games manage to keep me up until 4am but this one did it. Talk
about addictive!!

Best of all, the game is currently free.

Cheers,

David...

Check out http://www.bc3000ad.com/

It really is free. It's a big download, though.

I believe the free version is nearly identical to the one that was
sold publicly. It's offerred as a "demo" to get people interested in
BC3000 Version 2.0 which is supposed to be an improvement.

Do you know of any CDs (magazine CDs, anything) that have had BC3K on
them? I don't want to download 10 ~5MB files... unless I have to.

: The free version is different from the original release in terms of
: performance, being the result of about 500 patches (slight
: exaggeration here). It actually kind of works now, but there're still
: some problems and development is incomplete.
: The free download is the DOS game patched to version 1.01 D7C and
: Version 2.0 is supposed to be a WIN32 only product.

The site said something about appearing in gaming magazines as a free
"demo" anyone know which ones?

er, that's incorrect sir. The free v1.01D7C is not even in the same league as
v1.00 released in 1996. All the info you need is at www.bc3000ad.com

I believe CGW, PC Games and CGS+ will carry it at some point. They had already
planned their cd-roms issues by the time the version was available on 2/13/98
