Just discovered this. Looks sweet. Indie game made off a modified
Freespace 2 engine.

I might just have to look into this, since I have been looking for a
Wing Commander game and none seem to be playable on Windows XP...

Thanks!

Like? Pretty much every WC game can be played on XP with one trick or
another. In most cases setting Win9x compatibility on all EXE files in
the respective folder is already sufficient.

I don't know about the last game, Prophecy, but from everything I read
online all of the past games run too quickly under Pentium processors
and/or have issues even under the Windows compatibility feature. Can't
say I tried myself, but am waiting to see if some sort of anthology box
set is released of the entire series anyway... ;)

The only game with speed issues should be WC1 DOS and SM1 DOS.
Everything else has a built in speed limiter. But yes, that limiter
might not work without some tinkering on some systems (and the general
stability is sometimes less then it was back in the days).
I never said it was 100% hassle free, but between Dosbox, VDMSound and
some fanmade patches every WC game ever made can be played on modern
hardware with XP.

That would be cool, but I wouldn't hold my breath. None of those people
work for Origin or EA anymore. It's highly unlikely.

Don't underestimate EA. WC1 and SM1 (SNES versions) have just been
rereleased for the PSP in the EA Replay package.
