You've been around long enough to know that for many many years, PC
technology had to play catch up to my ideas and the things I wanted to do;
and that it was only after several years and four titles in, that there
were machines powerful enough to even run my games without choking.

*snicker*...

More like machines have only just become powerful enough to run his
still-buggy crap because of his crap coding slowing things down... :D

Bet you it's another flop, and he'll find a way to avoid responsibilty again
by blaming someone else, yet again!
But then, that's hardly an inspired prediction...(!) :D

What's funny is that about the only good thing about the Battlecruiser
games, is that they ran at acceptable framerates on the average hardware
available at the time of release. Then again, I might be remembering it
wrong.

I fail to see how current technology can help him understand game design,
which would seem a vital step forward, as it tends to work the other way
around for most developers.

Yes, you might be remembering wrong about the framerates but it's odd
that you've no such doubts about it being 'the only good thing about
the Battlecruiser games'. The usual superior bollocks.

What's actually funny is how many armchair experts are now prepared to
loftily dismiss the BC series from their collective position of smug
self importance. There were, and are, many good things about the
Battlecruiser games from the point of view of a space-sim fan if they
are willing to look beyond the failings of the developer.

No offense, but I did...and I *still* thought it was a piece o' cr*p :D
Great idea, but failed in design and execution.

AFAICT, BC's most useful feature is getting some of the old regulars to
post here now and again. <waves to Br d>

This is one of those posts a response to which requires well
considered repartee. A finely constructed reply, full of wit, good
humour, intelligence and a smattering of relevance. So: fuck off you
cockney twat.

Wow. More use of the word "my" than in any other interview in all time.

He is really an ass.

At this rate, I'm going to have to dig out my X-Tension disc and see
if it works on XP. That or pick up X2 on budget. I'm not convinced by
X3's apparent lack of cockpits, call me old fashioned but I know what
I like and I like what I know!

As far as I know, X-T works with XP SP2.

I haven't had the courage to buy X3, since I didn't really get into X2
passed the first 10+ hours when I first got it. I tried to play it
some more when 1.4 was released, but it still eventually bored me to
tears after a few days.

Consider that confirmed. I was appalled at how out of practice I am,
but I'm getting the hang of it now. The X52 is a very nice stick, and
is well worth the money.

I might pick up X2 sometime but ATM X-T is doing a good job of
occupying my time.
