Name of game earth troopers against mars troupers I think on the moon

Hi,

can anybody remind the name of that pc game I played end of the 90s
where earth troopers had to fight martians, I think the setting was on
the moon, the look and feel was very similar to Age of Empires, it was
not of course the recent last version of that series though, and was
not based on the film of the marines in space which go to mars and blow
everything up; neither were out at the time.

The first trooper you could move around would say "orders!" and the
first order you would give it was move around to which he would say
"search and destroy!", rings a bell? As the trouper moved around the
scenario would show up, otherwise the unexplored surroundings were
blacked out.

I think I also remember one the martian war machines looked like a
mixture between a creature and a tank and shot things at the troopers
from its tail...but then it was such along time ago.

One could choose to play either on the side of earth or play for the
martians.
There were missions to accomplish, then one would advance in level and
the game got harder.

Do you remember the name of the game?

Thanks!

It used to be on Underdogs, but that site went tits up!

Good game, but too much like Warcraft.

If you use the ip address in place of the address, things should still
be in place.

I recall something about a name server problem. Hope it gets fixed,
though. It would be one hell of a loss of a great (and legal)
abandonware site. I've always been more than happy to give 'em ad
click-thrus for anything useful I've found.

Thats it!

"Dark Colony", I downloaded the Demo and really looks good. In the demo
the trooper does not say "Search and destroy" and the graphics are not
as good as I remember them, but thats probably due both to the demo and
the fact that a lot of time has passed since.

I am vary happy now :-)

Thanks!

Add these three lines to your hosts file:

209.120.136.195 www.the-underdogs.org
209.120.136.196 files.the-underdogs.org
209.120.136.195 www.the-underdogs.info

If you are using XP, then hosts can be found in:

c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\

IIRC on older windows systems hosts is in c:\windows\

If you are using Linux it's in:

/etc

(But then if you are using Linux you already knew that.)
