Egosoft has released this playable demo for X3: Reunion (whopping 905
mb!). The demo walks you through key game concepts in a limited game
universe. Don't imagine that it will all be plain sailing though. The
deadly Kha'ak will be there too and you will have to contend with their
presence while you learn about the other aspects of the game.

I imagine so. They justified it by saying that if they released an
un-encrypted exe then it could be used to crack the protection from the
retail game.

Are you /sure/ that wasn't a typo? I'm going to wait to see if the
playable demo ever turns up on a cover DVD (which I doubt given the
size).
