Came across this link (http://media.putfile.com/IWar) of the original Iwar intro movie. Damn it's been years since I've seen it and I still can't get over how good it is for such an old game. Very professional stuff there. Anyway I'm now itching for some Iwar gaming goodness - I have my box, CD's and manual but I don't know how in the hell to get this thing to run under WinXP. I've tried running it with this glide wrapper (http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/) but all I get is a grey box screen and then nothing. Anyone have any tips? I wish there was something equivalent to Dosbox for Win95/98 as the compatibility modes in XP don't seem to work worth shit for any old Windows game.

Don't have the game but try reading this thread: http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=1436&highlight=independence DosBox is an emulator. The compatibility modes in Windows 2000/XP/2003 apply specific fixes for game problems. It's not an emulator. The closest equivalent to DosBox for Windows games would be emulators such as Qemu/Virtual PC/Vmware but of course those are "PC" emulators not "Windows" emulators and will likely never be as good as DosBox is at what it does "only designed to run Windows games", whereas the "PC" emulators are designed for proper operation of Operating Systems and Applications, not Gaming. There is also "WINE" for Linux but it's not an emulator and nowhere near the above programs for compatibility.
