I got sick of my current games and decided to reload Freelancer for another go and it still strikes me as a VERY cool game. After I finished it the first time I went onto EVE online. At the time EVE was a pretty cool game, but as I play FL again I realize that it has a lot of stuff that I'd like to see in an online game. With some tweaking it could easily become a subscription based online game. Till then, I guess I'll be trying some of the free servers out there if there still are any and was wondering about popular mods and popular servers. The stuff I'd mostly like to see addressed would be the fact that all ships go at the same speed. You'd think that light fighters would be slightly faster than heavy fighters which would be faster than freighters. I'm also not too keen on how there's no real downside to mounting the biggest weapons you can afford. Big guns should take a lot to fit and take a lot of power to fire and nomad weapons are just stupidly overpowered. The scaling of the game bugs me quite a bit too. If the ships were MUCH smaller (1% to 10% of their current size) and distances displayed were changed it would help a lot with believability. Any mods that address any of these issues? Are there any servers that are recommmended that run a lot (if not 24/7) that are recommended for playing on? Remove nospam_ to reply by email Jeff H........ Lies, All lies. You probably already know this, but the best place for FL stuff is: http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/ Check "downloads" for a (huge!) list of available mods. With any luck, you might be find one or more that deal with the issues you mention. For a huge increase in the universe size, I'd recommend the "massive" mod.

For a huge >increase in the universe size, I'd recommend the "massive" mod. > I've been to the download section of lancersreactor. The big problem there is the number of them to choose from. Lot's of them have plenty of new ships. (not the best quality from what I've seen) There's also lots of mods that have more solar systems, but that's not what I'm looking for either. Unfortunatly, detailed info on what's been changed in a mod is hard to come by without installing it and trying it. :( I used to run into the same problem with MP servers. I'd spend the time setting up an account on one, making some cash, getting a better ship, and then find out that it only runs a few hours a week or that cheating was rampant. All I'm after for a mod is something that has a few tweaks rather than one that's trying to change the entire game. Remove nospam_ to reply by email Jeff H........ Lies, All lies.
