While I was waiting for demo of X3 I checked on the Freespace Source Code Project. They have a new executable and it is STUNNING! This is still the best space sim ever made!!! It is simple to use this (or at lease simpler than Falcon 4...) Install FS2 from disks Patch to 1.2 here: http://scp.indiegames.us/download.php?list.12 Download fs2_open 3.6.7, from here: http://scp.indiegames.us/download.php? list.8 , move to install directory Download mv_zpack, mv_adveffects from here: http://scp.indiegames.us/download.php?list.2 move to install directory Run launcher, select the 3.6.7 exe and easy config everything. Rejoice in the beauty!!!

I was going to install this until I checked what was required. You make it look simple but have you seen all the DOS like options for the launcher? I'm not a programmer! -- Regards Bob

Latest version of F4 is F4AF which has a one click auto-updating service.

I have run F4 with the SP3 add-on and now F4:AF and both are straight forward. I believe the FS2 update is a work in progress, perhaps a better way of installing it will come about in time. -- Regards Bob

I just installed it. It really isn't that bad. Just unrar all the files to your FreeSpace2 directory, then run the Launcher.exe. If you have a decent puter, select everything on and run it. Nice graphical update .
