i tried this and the game wouldn't load at all... changed it back and it loaded
fine... so I unistalled,  then reinstalled... now the game is running fine for
some strange reason... I'm only getting small lags when I approach busy
L-points or stations, but nothing major really. Combat is working good and
there haven't been any freezes yet...

only problem now it that when I try to apply the eoc_patch_2.exe, it says that
I have version F14 installed, but ingame, on the main menu, it says F10.0. I
don't have "EXTRA" on the menu anymore and no "MOD" sub-directory... 

do u know what file eoc_patch_2.exe uses to get version information?
