I found myself a little disappointed by this, because there > are so many legitimate criticisms to be made regarding the US without > making shit up. I know it's bad form to reply to oneself, but why stand on ceremony I always say. As an example, on British television someone was having a giggle about a poll conducted in the US that showed a large percentage of people surveyed couldn't identify the name of the current US President (or something similarly simple). Now, I happened to have heard a news story about this particular poll before leaving for the UK, and what the television host neglected to mention was that the survey was conducted among young school children. I realize this would have spoiled the joke, but apparently some people lend some degree of credibility to this sort of caper. Of course, if you wish to demonstrate Merkin idiocy you could just go read comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.flight-sim. Bret
