The Vision Engine of Wing Commander Prophecy and Secret Ops doesn't like any flavour of Windows NT (which includes 2000 and XP). While there is a patch (inofficial I think) for WCP there is none for SO. You have to enable compatibility mode for that one in order to get it to run. Now this mode only exists for XP. There is however also a compatibility mode for win2000 if you know where to look: http://www.petri.co.il/application_compatibility_tool.htm describes the process. It is reported to work with Win2000, but only very few people tried. If it works please post a short message. -- Unforeseen Consequence of the "Millennium Bug": Microsoft declares the year 1900 to be the new standard of the "Gatesian" calendar.
