IWAR 2 Please Help!

I'm into the third act in IWar 2 and am having trouble with the mission 
where you have to disable the LDA/Jump Accelerator after the Marines have 
docked to it.

I read the FAQ which says to pass through the jump accelerator to destroy 
the LDA fields and target the LDA nodes.  I have tried both of these tw no 
avail.

If I try to pass through the field my ship is destroyed immedietly.  If I 
try to destroy the lighted nodes inside tube nothing happens.

I'm sure I'm missing something completely obvious but I have no clue how to 
complete this mission!

Any specific help is appreciated.  Thanks!
