Doesn't your dvd playing software have a brightness control? See also the "overlay" section of the video card options under color correction. You can, and I do, have the overlay at a different brightness than the normal desktop, and that overlay applies to the movie player. Both MSIDVD (came with the card) and PowerDvd get the brighter picture from this for me. Xocyll -- I don't particularly want you to FOAD, myself.
