Now - make absolutely sure you have the dagger from the locked chest in the
locked closet on the northwestern corner of Mordea's chamber. There is a
normal dagger hidden beneath some clothing in a cabinet, but that is not
the right one. Since you mentioned that you have Aramina's key, I think you
do have the right dagger, which, i think, is identified as 'Ceremonial Dagger'
when you click it. It really cannot be mistaken if you have it - If you are
unsure, you have the wrong one.

A puzzling question. Did you ask Aramina everything possible, or did you just
follow the shortest conversation route to get the key ? Have you completely
interrogated Vividos ? 

If all else fails, it is probably a bug, and a nasty one. Try loading a saved
game from a time before you first talked to Vividos. If such saved game is
not available, you might have to do something really miserable. Yes....
you need to Start Over.
