me on an old Apple II+ in 1982

I know Sir Tech have it all boxed up as a trilogy for the first three - but

I played it on an Apple II, no plus :)

I have a copy of Proving Grounds (#1), but just like the apple version,
it has that awful awful awful copy protection scheme where you can only
run it (in fact, boot it!) off of your floppy drive. Before you buy the
three game set, make sure this has been disabled.

Would you believe I still have the receipt? I tried to trade my disks in
for a modern version (flyers in the original box say you can do this for
a nominal shipping fee, though they envisioned replacing *damaged*
disks), but they weren't very pleasant about that alternative. If you
get a guy on the service line who doesn't give a damn about you, that's
the person I talked to :)

I wouldn't want to sell mine. I can't play it because my computer now
has a 3.5" boot drive (the disks are 5.25", and you have to boot them).
However, I have this fantasy that original disks from old old games like
that will be worth money some day to collectors. Pipe Dream?!
