RPG Maker Games

I've been working on RPG Maker games over the past few months and they are
pretty fun to create.

Has anyone here had experience with those sort of games before, and if you
have, would you be willing to pay for something made primarily with that over
more traditional game design?

The games tend to be a bit "retro", that is maybe they look like SNES or GBA
games, though with enough experimentation almost any style of game could be
made within RPG maker, even if it's more of an action game.

There are quite a few games made with RPG Maker on Steam, over 400,
so you can look at them to see what the market is like:

Not all of these games were actually made with RPG Maker, the "RPGMaker"
tag also gets used sometimes with games that just look like they were
made with it.

A few new RPG Maker games come out on Steam every month. That pace is
only going to quicken now that getting your game on Steam is as simple
as paying a $100 fee.

I've got a few of them through Humble Bundle deals, but I haven't gotten
around to playing them yet. You might actually have an RPG Maker game
and not know it as the engine has been used in a few relatively popular
non-RPG indie games, like To the Moon and Always Sometimes Monsters.

Or like Cherry Tree High Comedy Club which I've played and had forgotten
was made with RPG Maker. It's a time management game were you play
a high school student who's trying to sign up enough members start a
stand-up comedy club at her school. I recommend it, but admitably it's
not going to be everyone's cup a tea. It's a type game that's often
mistakenly called a visual novel, but while the visual presentation is
similar to a visual novel, these kind of games are quite different as
they actually have actual gameplay.

I haven't played any... but they exist, and are on Steam. Google.
