WINDOWS 10 Upgrade Better Games Compatibility Than Clean Install.
All on the same hardware with the latest November version of Win10
I've been trying assorted games on a fresh clean install of Windows 10 64bit
Pro.
Installed ALL the Visual C++ etc. .
I find a number of games will not start at all .
I know what I'm doing & have checked DLLs - compatibility settings Registry
settings. Etc.
I get most old & new Games working but a few give error;
"the application was unable to start correctly 0xc000007b"
Borderlands 2 & Borderlands Pre-Sequel also Darksiders II.
I see other people with same issue - but not every body ??
I had a new clean install Of Windows 7 Ultimate with my settings set
& just a few basic bits installed intending to move to that as my
usual Win 7 install is veeeery old & bit cranky.
But I had not got around to that move.
So I've put a Windows 10 Upgrade on that & find those games do work.
Loooong (sigh!) story short I find this Upgraded Win 7 to Windows 10 better
compatibility
e.g. Windows Live Mail .

Hence a load of disk based older games utilizing those drm schemes wont work anymore.

The only workarounds are ventdor approved drm free patches, no cd cracks (with other malware) from shady sources or rebuying the titles again online. It is not like those titles wont work just the integrated DRM wont work anymore. One of the many reasons why I simply buy PC games online only anymore. http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windows/how-play-safedisc-securom-drm-games-in-windows-10-3623760/
