There don't seem to be any real role-playing choices in the game so far. Maybe I'm just not far enough in, but i think I've got about 1/3 of the map explored in the upper left. Even FO3 had some pretty important choices in the first settlement. The only choices seem to be non dialog based. Ignore people, help people, or kill people. The dialog seems to always lead to the same conclusion of help whoever you're talking to. Most of the quests are pretty boring standard MMO fare of fetch or kill so far. I am enjoying the game, but it seems to have lost quite a bit on the RP side from even FO3. On the combat side, I'm not caring much for the way crits work, and I'm not sure about power armor. It was a major endeavor to get and learn to use power armor all the previous Fallouts, but it's there right off the bat in FO4, though I'm finding it difficult to get enough power for to use. - Justisaur

Fallout 1 & 2 can be thought of as rpgs, but F3 and F:NV were not, and F4 isn't either. What it is is a very very good action/adventure game is a very flexible character generation system.

I gave up on it after a few hours - just not at all my flavour - and I have no intention of picking up where I left off.
