Only just announced.
Seems to be a Steam thing.Info here.

Not clear to me whether the new patch includes the "Restored Content Mod"
aka "TSLRCM "
looks like it needs to be obtained separately.
There are 2 parts Inc. TSLRCM 1.8.3, and M4-78EP 1.1 released march 2014.

But for the steam game, maybe this version is needed?

It's available separately, but you'd want to get it through Steam
Workshop. The developers of the updated version of Knights of the Old
Republic made sure that an updated version of the mod was available on
Steam at the same time as they made the update available.

Will this patch, or indeed the TSLRCM mod (and others), be available for
the GOG downloadable version of the game?

I'm not absolutely sure as I keep as far away from Steam as I can.
But the Mod (& others from that site ) should work with any version of the
game.
The Steam patch seems to be about adding the game to Steam rather
than any in game enhancements..
