I already didn't like Fallout 3 particularly well, so this announcement
is not likely to get me out of my tree.

FO3 was ok, it was no real fallout however, in the sense that it lacked
the over the top humor the first two titles had.
I really should play New Vegas which was done partially by the original
Fallout devs. I have had it on my Steam list for so long now, never
really have had time to play it.

I wouldn't necessarily assume there is even going to be announcement.
Fallout 4 is for some reason it often used as click bait. Sites have
been writing articles like this since not long after Fallout 3 came out.

New Vegas is the true FO3, they just missed a bit to make it greatest:
combats suck by mechanics, combats suck by graphics/animation.
(Invisible walls suck enormously)

Also before you begin to play it, google for in what order and when play
add-ons, as they totally break game balance in 99% cases, and you will not like it.
(The game is not difficult even on hardest level)

Personally I skipped first two, and exceptionally enjoyed Old World Blues,
and The Gruesome Road (I prefer to call it so :) adds to the plot.

Also stock companions are not allowed in add-ons, but custom NPCs are.
Willow babe followed me everywhere.

Do not try all graphics modes at once - the game is prone to crashes.
Though a mod that adds period propagandistic (and anti-Soviet) songs is
a must.

Most probably New Vegas is the Obsidian's pinnacle.

In the meanwhile, Wasteland 2 will be released for consoles, the PC
version also will get an overhaul as well (according to the news, a
traits/perks system and rebalanced fights as well as improved graphics
due to a move to Unity 5)

I just wonder how they are going to pull off the mouse centric controls
of WL2 with a controller, this will be a tough task.

I found FO3 to be far better than NV after a couple mods. I also found far more humor in FO3.
