Now that the fallout publishing rights have gone to Bethestha it seems like GOG has pulled the sales of both Fallout 1 and 2, if you own the game the download is still possible. Probably the same goes for Steam, I have not checked yet. No wonder Interplay was giving it away for free before christmas. Werner

It's gone on Steam and all other sites as well, and yes GOG.com said the reason they were giving it away for free was becasue they were losing the rights at the end of the year. Bethesda, the new IP holders, have said they're trying to make it available again soon, but are only making getting it back on Steam a priority. Given that they could probably have it back on GOG in less than day if they just give them the permission to put it back up, I'm reading this as them saying it likely won't come back to GOG. (Valve on the other hand will probably force them to create a new installation package and submit it like it was an entirely new game.) Thank goodness I bought both games when they came out. The
boxed versions are still available from Amazon and E-bay
probably has them too.

On my windows machine, no problems, but on my mac, Wine keeps telling me to turn off compatibility mode, which I cannot do. Other people in the GOG forums report the same. -Feliks
