Whether you love or hate Steam*, there is no doubt that some of the sales offered on that platform are jaw-droppingly good. And when the Steam Summer Sale rolls around, well, it's hard not to go nuts. On the plus side, I already own a lot of the big-ticket games so I don't need to purchase those. But all those smaller games that were on my "maybe" list are jumping to the "hell, why not" list today. Steam is currently plagued with more traffic than they can handle; apparently everybody (myself included) started hammering the site the MOMENT the sale started. Still, I managed to get a few purchases in, including Hotline Miami Anna Hard Reset Postal 2 The Cave Display Fusion I also gifted a copy of "The Walking Dead" to a friend, just to share the joy. That knocked my wishlist down to about half its size ;-) Hopefully Metro Last Light will be drastically reduced in price soon. That's the one I'm really waiting for. * I'm in the latter camp, in case you are wondering

One of the reasons I thought there might not be a Summer sale this year was that didn't have any sort of contest during the last Christmas sale. I figured that plus the all the daily and weekly sales meant that they were pulling back from the big seasonal sales. It seems in reality though the reason why they didn't have a contest during the last big sale was that they were busy working on something much more complicated. Cards, drops, crafting, trading, market place, I think I've got it mostly figured out. I think... The quicktime events keep yanking control away from you, not occasionally but frequently. You can't really play the game because the game is designed to play you.
