Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me find a patch for the original Blood Omen (1) Legacy of Kain, so that I can hopefully play it on my Windows XP machine.

Mine's a Windows 95 version, but it won't play nice in XP, regardless of the compatibility mode, because I read somewhere that it tries to access your vid card directly.

There is an unofficial patch for the vid card problem somewhere. But I don't know where.

Unfortunately, ot activision or Crystal Dynamics webpages they have no info for BO 1. So I guess it isn't supported anymore. Did anyone else enjoy this game? I remember having lots of fun with it, but didn't like any of the Soul Reaver "sequels"

Thanks to Craig and to N with those links. I'll keep that site bookmarked for future legacy patches. Thanks.

Recently i considered making another attempt at 'finding' what made it so well received by critics and its fans, but i decided there were more compelling titles to pursue in my collection. The write up at Home of the Underdogs suggests that it was somewhat like The Legend of Zelda, but i don't get the same feeling aside from superficial similarities. Currently the game sits in its box with the map it shipped with. The whole package is in great condition and i'm hoping that will appeal to someone on Trade Games Now. -- salutations, mat np: crosstide - talk radio

And the storyline. The gameplay had its ups and downs in the different parts but was always enough to keep me playing.
