Thanks to everyone that answered. I kinda figured I needed a recipe and was
able to make one potion (Vomicum) but that's about it! Haven't come across
any other recipes (except for Hylailian Fire) and I'm on my way to Blood
Peaks. Maybe I'll find more there...I hope.
Using the Vomicum on the Kukris dagger resulted in a huge increase in damage
done to a monster while in combat. The effect of the poison doesn't last
very long though.

It's a useful in combat to get some extra damage in on an enemy. Just hold it as an item and use it when you're next to an enemy. You'll poor it over the enemy and it'll do some damage and reduce the enemy's attack/defense capability. It's nice to use when you're surrounded. : Using the Vomicum on the Kukris dagger resulted in a huge increase in damage : done to a monster while in combat. The effect of the poison doesn't last : very long though. Are you sure it's the Vomicum that's causing the damage? Kurkis itself increases the damage done by the strike to anywhere in the 40 point range. I've killed war ogres with two hits from a kurkis dagger. I think the poison lasts for two hits then it's used up. What I've been doing lately is poisoning arrows/bolts. Each "use" can poision 10 arrows/bolts. Hopefully, it'll have the same effect as poisoning a dagger. That'd be nice, 5x the effect. -- [ Chia-Hao Chang ] [ Internet mail: cch...@cis.ohio-state.edu ] [ CIS Undergrad. ] [ Note: PGP Public Key available by finger. ] [ World Wide Web/URL: http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/~cchang/ ]

Loving this game. Don't even mind the micromanagement. Just "look" at your weapons and boots every once and a while to make sure they are okay. A couple of questions, though. Sorry if these have been asked/answered before. First, how can I get the set of tools for mixing potions (can't remember what its called). Cannot seem to find them at any of the stores. Second, I have been wandering around, visiting every house, inn, etc in my starting city and Tjolmar, and trying to build up experience points in wilderness combat. I have yet to start on any real quest. Can someone get me started on something specific, something realistic for my relatively inexperienced band. Finally, are some events time sensitive? If I take my time scouting the wilderness, gathering herbs, pounding the bad guys and gals, will I miss some key event necessary to complete the game? I know have an NPC in my group, a ferocious female fighter with a two-handed sword. Well worth her pay. Is her stay with me time sensitive? (Is there a clock ticking down for her to stay with me?)
