I know there is a patch for the first Darksun (El Quadim) CD out there
somewhere. Could some kind soul direct me to the ftp site where I might
find it? Also, is there a FAQ for this game? Thanks much.

     Come again?  You're looking for which?  Dark Sun I or Al-Qadim, the
Genie's Curse?  They're two different games.  Assuming you want the Dark
Sun I patch, it's at ftp.cdrom.com in /.14/dresden/games/patches.  There
are two files, dscd11a.zip & dscd11b.zip.

You mixed something a bit it seems.Al Quadim has absolutely NOTHING to do
with Dark Sun I.Sure there is a patch out for both of them,but i only have
one
for Dark Sun I so far - one for Al Quadim will soon appear.You can find
it at ftp.cdrom.com in .14/dresden/games/patches as dscd11*.zip - it's
2 disks.It's at ftp.uml.edu in /msdos/games_uwp/patches and
wuarchive.wustl.edu
in /pub/MSDOS_UPLOADS/games/patches too...
