I must agree with one of the other commentators on this terrible game. Yes the graphics are nice, but thats it. There is no story of any use at all. When you have commands like ASK "where is closest dungeon", you know you've got problems. Initially i was quite excited about playing this game, but after a few hours of gameplay, I noticed it was incredibley tedious. Go into dungeon, hit monsters, sleep, hit monsters, sleep,... leave dungeon. Go to next town, ASK "where is closest dungeon" Go into dungeon... etc etc Oh yeah and the occasional robbing of a temple or Mage shop during the night, real thrilling. I took to running thru the streets chopping up the passerbyes just for kicks. And then a thrilling fight with the local constabulary, oh boy, oh goody. I blew this game off my drive while halfway thru the goblin dungeon. If you found this game very entertaining, then you must be amused quite easily. ------------------------------------------------------------------ GAME CRITIQUE AND ENGINEERING STUDENT par EXCELLANCE Ben Winterburn... These are opinions are now yours as well.. __________________________________________________________________

I felt the same way. I played for 10 hrs and promptly erased the game.
I was hoping that if I got to a high level the game would start to get
interesting. The only thing I would like to add is that the graphics
did not impress me at all. I liked the graphics in dungeon master on my
old atari st much better. What I am saying here that I have seen
better graphics 6 years ago.
Anyway if you like unending hack and slash, this game is probably for
you.

Yes, I'm four (or more) years behind the times. Oh well. I don't know how to finish the game. I've cast all the shards into their flames, and have seen the instruction in the Codex, but I don't know how to get to the "eternal place of darkness." Anyone have any hints. Also, anyone know anything about black badges in Ultima V? Thanks for the help. I've got U6 & U7 to play when I finish this one. Chris Mathews RSE Moss-Jusefowytsch OEG ## CrossPoint v3.0 ##

Anyone have any hints. >Also, anyone know anything about black badges in Ultima V? To help? With pleasure. The dungeon of Doom is located somewhat in the center of the Underworld. Descend into the Shame or Deceit, and try teleporting (In Por) to the south or east - see for it yourself. You should have sandalwood box, the Amulet, the Sceptre (and the Crown for easier life). Wear the Amulet, pass through lava to the very center. At the entrance call forth "VERAMOCOR" to unlock the dungeon. Warning! There is no way back as you enter. Use the Sceptre to destroy force field walls. The inside structure of the Doom is easy. Just walk around it, search whenever possible and do not forget to wear the Crown. When you meet Lord British, give him sandalwood box and watch the end sequence. About black badge... It's the sign of Blackthorn's faith - the Oppression. You can hardly benefit from it... save you can move around his castle without being arrested. I wouldn't obtain it in your place. After all, Avatar should have faith in Lord British (even though his Ultima 7+ are nothing but a pile of garbage, from my viewpoint). Ultima V is a wonderful game, for its kind and all. Hope that will help, Best regards, Konstantin. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Konstantin Yu.
