Well.. it all depends on what you're looking for in the game. I just got it about a week ago, and tonight I finished it (to my surprise). If you're wondering about the game for it's Japanese style graphics, then you probably won't be disappointed. It's certainly full of that! If you're wondering about the game for it's NR-18 side, well.. I haven't actually seen it, since I have yet to receive the NR-18 'upgrade,' but from what I can tell, there are several places in the game where I can see where the more racier things will be added. My guess is it will come close to the level seen in Cobra Mission. If you're wondering about the music and sound? Both are quite simple... not horrible, but certainly nothing to write home about. I really do not like the FM music that MegaTech has been using in their games. I have the CD version of the game, so there is full speech. A warning, though... it's annoying. I thought the voice actors were corny, and quite frankly, not good. So very early on, I turned off the speech. I wasn't expecting the game to be so... goofy. The screen shots and demo didn't make it appear that way, but the game is completely full of very goofy, tongue-in-cheek 'humor'.. and I found that annoying, but after a while, I learned to ignore it. The storyline could've been more interesting, especially if they would just cut the cornball attempts at humor. The gameplay is simple, and customizable to an extent (combat speed, walking speed, sound levels, map appearance, etc.). The game itself, and the mechanics therein, were typical of this kind of game. Your average Zelda/Final Fantasy/Dragon Warrior-type of RPG. Lots of places to visit. Not very many 'dungeons' or anything of that ilk. TONS of random monster encounters (boy is that annoying; every ten steps or so). HUGE land to wander (and get lost for hours). No overmap function in the game (for a maxi-view of the land). No paper map included with the documentation. So in other words, you have no clue what the land looks like, or where you're really going. Most of it depends on context clues, of which there are only a few. I managed to finish the game without getting to some things (as became obvious by the marked absence of a particular kind of magic that I never discovered). I'm looking forward to the NR-18 upgrade... it'll be interesting to see what they've.... added... <*grin*> Bottom line: I was much more excited about this game before I actually had it. I'm not sorry I bought it, but given the chance, I don't think I'd do it twice. Perhaps I figure I'm just 'collecting' the MegaTech games... yeah.. that's it.... Rich -- RE...@ix.netcom.com
