I have been playing Ultima 8 to the point where I am on my pilgrimage.  My
strength and dexterity have increased by 7 and 9 points respectively, but my
intelligence has only increased by 1 last night.  I understand I have to cast
many spells to increase intelligence, but reagents for Necromancy is only
available in Stone Cove (I understand the old man on the Plateau sells some,
but not all.

Well, I getting a bit bored of travelling to Stone Cove when my reagents run
low.  Is there a simpler method of increasing intelligence?  I mean I can
increase my strength and dexterity by going into combat mode and do some
swings in the air, and these two attributes will increase, but not
intelligence.  Would reading help?  Do I have to read magic scrolls/books or
any scroll/books will do?
