The first month that Intel produced the 100 chip in volume was October
after the bug was fixed. So these people's claims are untrue. They are simply
trying to make this bug a bigger deal than it actually is.
Intel has also been making bug free chips for four months now so there
should be no doubt as to how many good chips are out there. Unless a system
manufacturer is seriously lagging behind with their chips you can be assured
that your new Pentium system you plan to purchase will be problem free. Make
sure you ask the manufacturer when the chip was produced. I will be buying
a new Pentium motherboard next month and I don't have any reservations about
it because I know that the problem has been fixed. I am not jumping on the
bann Intel bandwagon like so many are. I will be telling all of the people I
know that this bug has been blown way out of proportion and there is no need to
abandon Intel. They are still the world's #1 microprocessor manufacturer for
now and many years to come.
