Greetings avid gamers from across the globe... I'm conducting a bit of research about the online gaming community. I want to know which games YOU think have potentially been ruined by players who are, at the moment, grouped under names such as 'Player Killers' (Ultima Online) or 'Tank Rushers' (Total Annihilation et al.) and so on. Most of the time there's two sides to the argument -- or two ways of playing -- but the fact remains that some gamers feel multiplyer games played over the Internet can be ruined by players who don't 'play by the rules' as it were. What I would like to know is: * What games do you feel have been affected by this so far? * What games do you see being affected in future? And: * What do you do to decrease the chance of this happening? Are there certain strategies, game configuration parameters, chat zones or methods of game hosting you use to minimise the chances of letting 'bad' players into or affecting your games? Please feel free to reply here or to my email address. The purpose of this research is not to find a solution but rather report on the current state of affairs and the possible work-arounds many gamers use. Thankyou for any information you can provide, Ashton Mills PCPowerPlay Magazine ami...@acp.com.au
