I'm a little confused, because I don't know enough German obviously :-(
The first part clearly says:
    Some here understand German,
The last part looks to me like it should be translated,
    you thickheads (literally wood-heads)
but I can't see more than one person in the parts of the thread you
quote who would deserve such recognition, so perhaps I am mistranslating.

I don't know.  This post got some response (admittedly, it was criticism
of both language and content).  Oftentimes, someone will repost it with
translation anyhow, certainly if someone asks for a translation.
Everyone should know a little German anyway...
