Almost all of the privacy complaints about Windows 10 are actually the result of people assuming that the data collection and relevant licence terms that applied to the pre-release versions of Windows 10 also applied to the release version of Windows 10. Those prerelease versions reported a bunch of stuff back to Microsoft so they could verify it was working correctly and fix problems when it didn't. As near as I can tell the release version of Windows 10 doesn't report anything to Microsoft that the older versions of Windows do.
