This has been my experience. In addition to the build quality itself,
I always had issues with drivers. It's just not a plug-n-play ordeal
like with a real Xbox controller. I'm not sure if they've improved
since I last tried one. Most of Logitech's stuff is nice but I would
not get one of these based on my prior experience with them.

When you see controller support listed for a game, it means it will
work out of the box well with a real Xbox controller.

One of the nice things about the Xbox controller, at least wireless,
is that you can turn it on at any time, even mid-game, for example if
you're keyboarding and suddely decide you want to switch to the
controller.

Maybe things have changed but you didn't used to be able to do that
with the Logitech drivers, you would have to save the game, shut it
down, plug the controller in if it wasn't already, load the game back
up, tell the game to use the controller instead of the keyboard
mappings, etc.

Plus the Xbox controller just feels high quality to the hands. I've
heard playstation users say they don't like the stick layout, but in
longer sessions its actually more comfortable to the hands and you
quickly get used to the asymmetric placement.

The Razer Onza I used to have was nice in the sense that the button
throw was shorter and felt better, and the sticks had adjustable
tension settings. However, for everything I liked about it there was
something I didn't like -- the cord was nice and long but it was still
a cord. Unfortunately, they decided to add a "feature": the index
finger buttons right above the trigger actually had two on either side
(total of four), which could be remapped. It sounds good on paper,
but because I'm only an occasional controller user, I would always
forget which of those buttons did what (upper or lower), and because
all games are designed to work with official Xbox controllers, when
they would say RB or LB, it was always a crap shoot which one they
were talking about.

Simpler is better. Microsoft made a controller that nobody could
improve upon.
