I had a similar reaction to the original Assassin's Creed, it just
didn't do anything for me. That was before I started using an Xbox
controller for games that were designed for them, so I've frequently
thought I should go back and give it another try, it's just something
about the setting/story etc. didn't grab me and has made it hard to
try again.

The first Batman game surprised me in how good it was, although oddly
I never finished it (have been meaning to do that). I've got one or
two of the later Batman games sitting in queue that were picked up on
sale.

AC came to mind because you mentioned it. I'm sure there are probably
plenty of games that I've avoided their sequel after having played the
original that I just ignored to the point of forgetting they existed.

Dragon Age: Origins left me underwhelmed and definitely caused me to
avoid the sequel, DA:II, however from what I've seen and heard of
DA:Inquisition it is a completely different type of game and might be
worth trying once the price hits ten bucks or so.
