Heh, Murphy's (?) Law at play here - I've been with eternal september since the motzarella days and could count on the fingers of one hand the number of times their nntp server went down temporarily and yesterday was one of those times. Never had a need to go to their web site once my account was created so I can't vouch for it, but it seems to be down right now indeed. Didn't know giganews offered text only accounts, this whole enchilada makes a bit more sense now but I still think it's not worth the extra cash, however little, all things considered.
