It sounds to me like it will be a 'chapter-based' game (series) not unlike the 'Episodes' for Half-Life: Aftermath or, dare I say it, the Alternate Reality series. (Remember that one?) Whether it will succeed depends on the quality of it's 'overall story', so to speak. There are as many ways to build (or screw up) a 'Universe' as there are 'elements' to base it on. (A Sokoban Universe, for example, would probably 'borrow' elements from Chip's Challenge, S.C.Out, and Midnight Synergy's Wonderland series and a Tatris Universe would take inspiration from clones like Hacker, Bloxeed, Zetrix and Nyet III, not just the 'spinoffs' (Tetris Plus, Shockwave, TGM). Either way, the resulting product would have to be feature rich before I'd lay down my hard-earned cash for it, especially after what happened to other 'updates' like the modernized Pipe Dream (CD check=FAIL!=NO SALE!!!)) Let's see how things go, in any event. Signed, Warewolf who, knowing the Rules of Engagement, could go once more into the Breach.
