Thus spake Ceowulf <noneed@toknow.askifyoudo>, Tue, 07 Jul 2009 20:34:28 +0800, Anno Domini: >Anyone else looked/heard about this new to be MMO by NCSoft (makes of >City of Heroes I think?). > >http://www.aiononline.com/us/ > >I have to admit I've got a gnawing in me to get back into SOME sort of >MMO. I've even signed up again for a 5 day trial with EVE and a 10 day >trial with WAR. Though so far I've managed to not consider WoW. > >What is it about these games, WoW in particular that sucks you in and >doesn't let its grubby paws off? :/ Aion looks ok-ish (mainly the flying & deity wars crap), but apart from the visuals & hype, there just doesn't seem to be the variety of race/class & things to do that the more mature mmos give you (not from just reading about it sight unseen anyway). I just can't get excited about it tbh & would rather play some more LOTRO or D2 or GW until the next great mmo comes out. I've been using this site/e-zine & mmorpg to keep tabs on upcoming mmos: http://www.gamerzines.com/downloading-mmozine_13.html The only ones I'm really excited about (as much as you can get about these things pre-release) are Star Trek Online, SW:TOR & GW2. Jumpgate Evo may be ok, but will probably just turn into a gankfest. There are others, but with lots of question marks. Did you catch this article on the E3 mmo round-up perhaps?: http://www.mmorpg.com/showFeature.cfm/feature/3211/page/1 -- Nostromo
