As a relative newcomer to the Ultima series, I think it would be
a wise to include a synopsis of the previous Ultima games, characters,
etc.  When i bought my first Ultima (The Black Gate), I was confused
as hell -- who was this Avatar?  Why do all these people know me?
Yes, there was a brief outline of previous stories in the fellowship
handbook, but it (as I only learned later) was a revisionist
history and only added to the confusion.  So, for the benefit of
new players, include background information on characters, cities,
and storylines of previous games (esp Ultima 8 which I refuse to
buy merely for this purpose)  Thanks.
