I think that I have to disagree with something that SwiftHeart Dragon said.
A minor issue, but I still need to get my two cents worth in (so I'm pushy
:). Why not no more 1000+ frames for the Avatar? I, for one, was most
impressed with the graphics in U8. When you think about it, there are
really very very few true RPGs that have extensive animation. True, it is
not really noticeable once enthralled with the game, but it was still VERY
nice to see for a change. If you've got the graphics, why not flaunt 'em?
Use it, but I think that all will agree that it should NOT sacrifice plot
and interface and other things (if this is possible). I also have no
objection to a multi-CD game, the way I figure it, if you're gonna put it on
CD, make it a worthwhile CD game. Quite frankly, I do not want to see
another Ultima installed on my harddrive, I would much rather see a BETTER
Ultima played off my CD drive. If you've got it, USE it. Heck, I'd even
upgrade my CD-ROM drive specifically for U9 if it were really necessary. I
mean, hell, I bought a PC specifically for Ultima 7, call me a nut, but I
guess I am. Basically I guess I am trying to say that you should not drop
anything that is considered a plus if you don't have to. Just add on, and
revise a little. I agree that the jumping and dying has got to go, but I DO
like the climbing, and the jumping might make sense if done within REASON
(ie, not arcade style, not NECESSARY to the game, and NOT fatal at all). I
guess that's about all I have to say for the moment, thanks again for the
time.
