Something you may want to try, if you have earlier versions of DOS, is to use
the join, append and subst exe's from it and use setver to set the version for
those utilities to the version of DOS you got them from.  That worked for
me (I had DOS 3.3).

Another way is to get onto the microsoft  FTP sever (ftp.microsoft.com) and
retrieve the DOS 6.x utilities disk from there.  It was in the files directory
for 6.0, 6.2, and 6.21.
