The P6 will be a speed demon. The slowest version will be clocked
at 170mHz (PC Week, November 16 issue). It will also have 6 million
transistors aboard, with improved superscalar and branch prediction, etc.
PC Week didn't print any details.

Well... IBM wants to release a PowerPC platform optimized for
a native version of OS2. Evidently someone at IBM said that talks have
broken off for IBM to license PowerMac OS, and thus the unified PowerPC
Reference Platform is officially vaporware. (grin) This also came from
the Nov. 16 issue of PC Week.

Ah yes I think I know what you mean. Yep some motherboards out
there can be toted as being "optimized for DX2s" because they might have
a larger L2 cache or perhaps a fast ISA bus that is capable of 10mHz
speed in addition to the standard 8mHz speed (my DX2-66's AMI BIOS has
a setting for this.). I don't put much stock in these features though,
because having upgraded some clients' DX-33 to a 66 I do not see much
difference between their systems and mine.
