Who cares? This thread just gets more and more ludicrous. If Origin targets
a market that's too small, they'll go out of business or they'll wise up. If
on the other hand, they can sustain their success targetting high end machines,
more power to them. They are not the United States Postal Service (which
has a mandate that it *must* serve every address in the US). The point is,
get over it. If you can't run WC III (or whatever their next game is) then
you've got a few choices: upgrade your machine (but don't bitch about being
"forced to," it's just a game after all, you *can* live without it); buy it and
run it on your substandard machine (and don't bitch about it not running well,
unless you have the minimum recommended system); or (and here's a radical
thought) don't buy the damn thing. There is no law that says you must play
WC III. To some people, this game would be enough to make them upgrade their
computers. To the vast majority, it's not. Figure out what category you're
in and be happy. Look at it this way: you *will* upgrade your computer
eventually. If you don't do so for another couple of years, you'll be able
to pick up WC III for $20 in the bargain bin and run it faster than it ran
when it was released.
Justin (who's wondering how this thread got so long)
