: A 486 DX 33? I would really be surprised if that was the case. : As for the complaints bit... though someone said that it was a "major : pre-release game engine", that same someone said that it's speed was not : satisfactory. A lot depends on the video card of a computer. For example last year when I finanlly got Doom, played on my dx-50, 8 meg ram, it was very choppy, the video card was 512k trident. Insert a 1 meg Tseng labs card, the game was smooth, insert a 2 meg VLB card, the game wasn't smooth anymore, it was fast. : But tell me honestly: looking at Origin's trend, do you REALLY believe : they will keep supporting the 486 market? I am not talking NOW (though you : could take this "now" as some sort of beginning) but perhaps a year from now: No, I would be amazed if I could purchase a new Origin game released next year, and play it on full detail. I'd expect Bio forge will be the last Origin game I could play. This holds true particularly if they phase VGA out for Svga, like EGA was phased out for VGA. : do you think Origin's games will support the 486, when a year ago its games : still ran "satisfactorily" on a 386? : Keeping an open mind. By the way, are you in any way affiliated with : Origin? I know the question wasn't addressed to me, but I couldn't resist adding my $0.02 worth :) -- .__________________________________________________________________________. |Internet: pfle...@scu.edu.au | | One hour from now WING COMMANDER 3 will be one hour closer to release | |__________________________________________________________________________|
