Well met Phillip The Codex of Ultimate Wisdom caught Phillip Carter writing: : Hm. You don't mention what level your characters are, but I imagine that if : you're having as much trouble with spells being repelled as you apparently : are, then you may need to ramp up your characters some more before trying : to take on Mangar. the non-mages are all level 37... aye, I cheated and hacked their xps to 5 million :-} I figure that's why my party always runs successfully away from all encounters prior to the one with Mangar (I think if they choose to run from that, they would have been successful too :-)) : Here's my strategy, from a veteran BT player: : Get Thor in your party as the special member. If you don't know where : he is, go to the passageway where two sleeping red dragons awaken and : attack you. One square north of that spot, there is a secret door on the left : side. Go through it and you'll be confronted by a magic mouth. Answer it : and you'll be given a Thor figurine. Activate it and Thor will enter your : party. Thor always attacks before ANYONE else, including the enemy monsters, : and always critically hits whatever he attacks. interesting.... never thought they'd give a Thor figurine... I guess my party's slots were full -- ************************************************************************ * Sir Launcelot du Lake Internet: swk...@leonis.nus.sg __ * * Avatar & Knight of Britannia Bitnet: swkgohw@nusvm.bitnet / \ * ********************************************************** | () | * * Crom, I've never prayed to you, I have no time for it * |\_\ /_/| * * Even you don't remember the deeds of men, why we * | _ _ | * * fought, why we died.
