The major reason I guess is that I have yet to see or hear of _A_ particular game that is GOOD on CD-ROM compared to the HD version. Most CDROM games out there are basically floppy releases with full speech usually... big deal; there's still 550 MB of stuff on the CD left unused... talk about waste of space and opportunity. Other games like Rebel Assault are just glorified shootem-ups. I wonder if there is ANY person out there who has finished the entire game and has gone back to it, from the START, repeatedly because they enjoyed the experience. Still others are basically what the old 8-bit compter graphic adventures were without the text (and just a wee-bit enhanced). I am of course referring to things like "Myst" and "The 7th Guest". Sure they looked pretty. Sure they sounded pretty. But the gameplay was just above average, and that only because of the great puzzles... now tell me there haven't been any floppy releases with equally satisfying if not better puzzles. Maybe what is coming around the corner may warrant a need for a CDROM purchase for me... WC3, System Shock (I would honestly prefer to play the game in a 1024x768 mode compared to the floppy's 320x200 - IF that is a true claim, actually), Under a Killing Moon (The game's claim to give you the ability to explore EVERY single inch in a room is something else... poor man's VR perhaps? :-) - I just hope it is true and not just false advertisment)... and that's all for now. But for now, since there's nothing out there worth getting a CD-ROM for, why bother? Why buy a 100-foot yaght if you are never going to leave your desert house? - Falcon
