I agree one hundred percent, that last time I bought a floppy was the Silver Seed add on for Serpent Isle. Companies can add so much more detail using CD-rom, no matter what type of game it is. Their is no reason why companies can't use true 16 bit sound fx, most double speed CD-rom drives these days ship with a 16 bit sound card. Tile based strategy games like X-com can use SVGA graphics, the list goes on and on.
