My biggest problem with version 5.1 was that the Mines and other major battles took longer than a married man can spare easily, and there was no save during the episode! This was fixed with version 7 , but you'll need to patch to version 6 first. Both patches ( dk5_6.zip and dark07.zip ) are available ftp.wustl.edu and ftp.uml.edu /msdos/Games/Patches or the MicroProse BBS in Maryland. MicroProse was also offering the Hint Book with a character editor for only $5.00 recently. But watching your skill rise point by point is one of the satisfactions of the game. Just be sure to use MicroSoft Mouse 8.2 or newer. My favorite parts were busting-up the Templars & witches' covens & trying a _complete_ search of the castle of a Raubritter (Robber Knight) or Evil Lord. Get some good armor before you venture out of your first town. Frank Gleaves "Eschew Obfuscation"...Robert de LaRiviere
