Hello all...

This is an old one, but I've never played it and now I'm getting around to playing it.  Anyway, I'm in Castle Whiteshield and am trying to gain access to the dungeon.  The clue is:  North before South, East before West, subtract the castle's name to gain access...  The names I have gotten are:

     (NE)  Jodelle
     (NW)  Leadbeast
     (SE)  Astriel
     (SW)  Teshy

I get JodelleLeadbeastAstrielTeshy and I have to subtract Castle Whiteshield, but I am confused as to HOW to subtract it (I may have it in the wrong order also).  Anyway...if you have a clue (or even remember this game) please post a hint and/or spoiler.
