Well, I only hope that when Ultima X:Virtual Reality is released, it
will TRULY be VR rather than a cheap imitation. And there lies my fear: by
releasing U9 so "soon", they will have to wait a LONG time for VR tech. to
become popular enough to enter homes... and I really doubt Origin will wait
THAT long.
Unless of course they release "U9.1....U9.99999". ;-)

Well, in that case they could go back to the drawing board and fix
everything that was wrong in the original and then release it on CD (just as
the CD ver. of Strike Commander was not the problematic floppy mirror)...
or they could release it as U8.01... it has been done before.
Or they could even go the half-a-dozen-patches way which Microprose
used to do. It can be done, it is only a matter of how. Like someone,
somewhere once said: `if you eliminate the impossible, then you have to find the
"how" to make it possible' (forgive me Mr. Spock (Star Trek 6), I did not mean
to misquote you).
