I think it is the water of discipline that requires you to walk
through acid in order to get it. The first time I did it with loads
of yellow potions and Great-Heal spells - but it is a lot easier if 
you persuade Petra, the female automaton of the pub in moonshade to
exchange bodies and then walk through the acid with a metal body.
And that is what the vision is showing.

I was always of the opinion that what I did to restore balance 
was exactliy following these instructions.
